kingston 1 gb compact flash memory card Feb 25, 2008 The Kingston 1 GB memory card is a good choice for my Canon camera. Card had a good price and was shipped several days before it was promised.
Great card for the price, but...sloooooow read. Feb 13, 2008 Excellent value for what you get, however the READ time is very slow compared to other cards I own. Other cards I use with similar specs are lightning fast in comparison. I use these cards in my 10mp digital SLR camera.
On the upside, the write time has not been an issue at all even in burst mode shooting sports, and that's what REALLY matters...getting the shot! When the card is removed and plugged into my PC for pulling off shots the card really sweats transferring large files. Keep in mind that my file sizes are large...roughly 100 images per 1 GIG...so the average user may not have the same problem. All in all, a very good deal and a good card...just not super speedy.

Are You Kidding Me? 1GB CompactFlash for $15! What Are You Waiting For? Jan 24, 2008 I bought this Kingston 1GB CompactFlash card for $15! Isn't Amazon just amazing? I have been using this flash memory card for a few days now, which I purchased for a digital photo frame, and it works great. Sure, there are faster cards on the market, but they are priced nowhere near $15! Some have stated that their card died within a few months, or shorly after a year, but I have a backup of all of my photos and I am willing to take the chance. This memory card is plenty fast enough for a digital photo frame, and for the money I will be extremely happy if this card lasts me for a couple of years. I will certainly edit this review if the card dies before my expectations expire, but I have high hopes that this card will last well into the future. A great product by a great manufacturer, and thanks to Amazon it is available for an amazing price. The slower speed prevents me from recommending this card for a high end, digital SLR camera, but for a photo frame, PDA, or any other device that does not require lightning speed data transfer, I think this card is a no-brainer! Thanks Amazon. =o)
Dell 700m doesn't recognize this card Jan 07, 2008 I bought this card to use with a BOSS br-864 digital recorder. The 864 recognized it at first. My computer (or perhaps just the usb card reader) doesn't see it, however. Because of this, I have to use the 864's usb transfer to edit the recordings on my computer. After about a month of use, and 11 songs recorded, the 864 started getting card read errors with this card. I no longer use it, and am attempting to get Kingston to replace the ones I bought on Amazon.
I haven't had any of these problems with Sandisk Ultra II cards...yet.
Works great, super price! Nov 05, 2007 This card works great! I use it in my computer engineering classes.
If the price is the same as when I bought it (about $10), you can't beat this deal! If the price has changed, it is still a good quality item.
