Almost perfect, but essentially flawed. Apr 19, 2011
By Concerned City-zen It's a nicely made, form-fitting case that is handsome and even lighter in weight than the synthetic ones I've looked at. The trouble lies in the cover. As advertised, it switches the iPad 2 off when it closes and back on when it's opened. However, the cover doesn't stay tightly closed so the iPad cycles on and off with even casual movement when being carried. Additionally, there's evidently no shielding in back of the cover's magnet so the iPad switches off again when the cover is fully opened and flipped around to the back.
I expect that a stronger magnet with proper shileding will solve both these issues, and I would readily buy it if that were the case, but sorry to say, this one's going back.
A Day Later: It's worth noting that at this time there are four other reviews, and each give the product five stars. One of them is "signed" by the company itself and the other reviewers have written only rave reviews for Acase products (except for one review of a therapeutic wrist band, possibly to relieve the pain from all that typing...). Along those lines, this review immediately received a "0 of 3" helpful rating. Maybe nothing is going on here, but it appears as though the company itself is skewing the results for this and other Acase products on Amazon. I believe that I've provided a fair assessment of this case, and if it had seen just a little more product testing then it would have easily earned five stars from me. Now, however, I'm leaning towards avoiding Acase products altogether as a matter of principle.

Great Value, Great Case! Apr 26, 2011
By Teeman I found a good promotion going on for many of iPAD2 cases at CTCStore, so I compared their products and decided to purchase this item. I use my iPAD for both business and personal purpose, therefore I was looking for a case that looks like biz professional and stylish. This product is simple yet elegant leather case which well fit and protect my iPAD2. It covers the devise all around, so no worry of scratches or dusts. The only thing you will need is probably a screen protector for the touch screen. Everything else is covered by this leather case. This is exactly what I was looking for! Even though the case is reasonably priced, the quality is pretty good and looks and feels like an executive leather case. Very well recommended.

Good Quality Leather iPad case... Apr 22, 2011
By Tom Campbell Overall fit and finish are very good. Only complaint is the flap cover, which turns the iPad on and off, does not fit flat...and which can sometimes leave the iPad on. This issue might go away as the cover is broken in and/or the iPad is stored upside down..on the flap cover.

Great Alternative to Smart Cover Aug 26, 2011
By kasey_k1 So, even though I hardly ever do reviews, I HAD to come back and write one up for this case. I definitely checked multiple reviews for multiple cases before settling on this Acase, even though I bought the pink version, and wanted to chime in for future shoppers.
First, here's what I love (PROS):
- All-Around Coverage/Protection. The major flaw of Apple's Smart Cover for me was the lack of protection on all sides of the iPad 2. I wanted to be able to throw my iPad 2 in my purse/bookbag, and not have to worry about the back getting scratched and dinged up. The Acase solves this problem extremely well. Unlike some other cases I looked at, where the sides or the corners are still exposed, the iPad is COMPLETELY protected in this case - including the inside edge! All of the buttons and ports are accounted for in the design, with easy access via the cutouts.
- Complete Protection, Without Bulk! As I said, it protects the iPad from all sides. But as opposed to many other case options, it doesn't add a ton of weight/bulk! The iPad still maintains it's sleek form and there is only a minimal addition to the weight. After all, that's one of the main reasons you bought an iPad 2, isn't it?! Not to discredit the quality of the material, though! (Keep reading!!)
- Great Quality. The leather feels great, stabilizers in the stand/cover are sturdy, and the stitching is very well done. And - if you get the PINK color - it is a good, deep, pink/fushia color (Acase in Pink). I am using this for business school, and wanted to look professional, yet stylish, and the Acase is definitely that.
- BETTER typing angle! I always thought that the Smart Cover provided an awkward angle for typing in landscape mode. It needed a little more height so the screen would be more upright. The Acase is much more comfortable in this regard.
- Wakes the iPad When the Cover Opens Not as responsive as the Smart Cover, but not too far behind, especially considering you are going through leather.
- No Sharp/Rough Edges Nothing to scratch or risk scratching your iPad. Leather is soft, and the interior is a microfiber material that is super gentle to the iPad's surface.
CONS:
-Cost. If I hadn't gotten the Acase for $25, I think it would have been overpriced. Yes- it is a VERY nice case with great function. But it's also not top-of-the-line either. Hey- I'm a broke grad student, cut me some slack, haha.
All in all, I definitely recommend this Acase!

A Leather Case with "Smartcover" function... Apr 22, 2011
By Alex0411 I received my case today and love the leather smell and material very much. The fit of iPad2 is not precise. The camera hole and power hole are not "in the center".
I like the function of auto-on/off like the smartcover. If there is a way to close tightly instead of the front cover flipping over, that would be even better. Most of the time I put my iPad 2 on the desk after closing it so this auto-poweroff is still good for me.
At this point, I'm going to keep this case. After all, it has the smartcover function with complete protection on the backside. The price is reasonable!
